Int’l luxury cruise liner docks at Paradip Port after a decade

Paradip: Scaling new height in Odisha tourism, an international luxury cruise liner carrying 120 passengers anchored at the Paradip Port here on the Republic Day today.

Sources said the luxury cruise liner ‘Silversea Cruises’ docked at the Paradip port after a gap of around 10 years.

The ship with visitors from countries like the US, the UK, Australia and South Africa arrived at the port at around 8 AM today. After the arrival, the port authorities gave a rousing welcome to the visitors in traditional way.

The cruise liner will take the visitors to the ancient Buddhist heritage sites at Ratnagiri, Udayagiri and Lalitagiri in Jajpur district, sources added.

The Tourism Department has made all arrangements to facilitate the international guests and provide them comprehensive information on the historical, cultural and religious heritage of the Buddhist sites, said an official.
