Irate villagers attack family in Odisha village, two killed

Bhanjanagar: One person was killed and four of his family members injured in an attack by a group of villagers in Nuagada village under Sorada police station limits in Ganjam district this afternoon.

While the deceased, Manoj Naik and his family members were taking rest after having lunch at their house, a group of residents of the village carrying weapons barged in. Before anyone could comprehend what was happening, the villagers attacked Manoj and his family leaving them injured critically.

After getting information, police reached the spot and admitted the injured at the hospital.

While undergoing treatment, Manoj and his father Punia succumbed to injuries. Hospital sources said condition of the three other injured are stated to be critical.

As per latest reports, a case has been registered at Sorada police station and probe is on into the matter.
