IRB Constable shot dead in Odisha

Dhenkanal: An Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) personnel was shot dead over suspected quarrel at Chaulia village under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district late on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Rama Chandra Sahoo, posted as the Constable in IRB.

According to reports, Rama Chandra sustained bullet injuries in the firing yesterday night following which he was admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The family of deceased alleged that Rama Chandra was shot by village head over an argument with him on occasion of Holi.

The accused fled from the spot after opening fire at the IRB personnel.

Following the incident, Police reached the village and initiated probe to nab the accused person.
