Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public meeting in Mayurbhanj district today, asked whether there was a conspiracy behind the deteriorating health of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
"The well wishers and close ones of Naveen babu are worried over the fact that his health has deteriorated significantly in the last one year. Whenever they meet me, they say that he is unable to do anything on his own. They believe that there might be a conspiracy behind the incident," said Modi at the public meeting.
"Is there any conspiracy? The people of Odisha have the right to know the truth. Is the lobby, who is enjoying power in Odisha behind curtains, involved in the matter? If the BJP is voted to power in Odisha, our government will form a special committee after June 10. The committee will ascertain as to why Naveen babu's health deteriorated," the PM said.
Exuding hope over formation of BJP government in Odisha, Modi said, "I have come to invite you to the swearing-in ceremony of BJP Chief Minister in the state on June 10. The people of Odisha want that an Odia should become the CM of the state."
Launching a scathing attack on the ruling BJD, Modi said the regional party betrayed the people of Odisha during the last 25 years. "The BJD tried to acquire the lands of tribals by introducing a new law. However, it revoked the law after being pressurized by the BJP. The BJD looted mines while the BJP gave crores of rupees to Odisha through District Mineral Funds."
"The BJD has misappropriated the funds. Wherever they hide the money, Modi will find out. They will have to return the money to the public. The looters will be jailed. This is Modi's guarantee," he added.
