ITC to invest Rs 470 cr to set up Food Park in Odisha

A Food Park and a Steel Equipment Company would be set up in Odisha’s Khordha district. This was decided at the state level land allotment committee meeting here today.

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, chairman and managing director (CMD) of Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO) Vishal Dev said the state government would provide 30 acres of land for the proposed Food Park which would be set up by the Indian Tobacco Company (ITC) Ltd. The projected cost of the proposed Park is Rs 470 crore.

“Besides, the committee also approved the expansion of SMS India Pvt Ltd which would set up a Steel Equipment Company in Khordha district. The state government would provide 14 acres of land to the company,” he said.

The IDCO CMD said the meeting discussed 27 new and 22 deferred projects.

Among others, chief secretary GC Pati, Development Commissioner UN Behera and Revenue secretary were present at the meeting.
