ITI student goes missing under mysterious circumstances in Odisha’s Puri; probe on

Puri: A student of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Puri went missing on Saturday. His last location is said to be Khurda railway station. However, the youth has not been traced yet.

The 17-year-old missing youth has been identified as Ashish Mallick, who hails from Sorada village under Charichhaka police limits of the district. He is a student of 1st-Year in ITI at Matiakhata of Gop.

According to a source, Ashish used to go to his institute to study in the morning at around 8.00 AM every day. He returns home at around 2.00 PM after his classes are over. He went out riding his bicycle at around 8.00 AM but did not return home till 9.30 PM on the night of Saturday.

The worried family searched for the missing youth at all probable locations but to no avail.

The next morning, Ashish’s father lodged an FIR with Charichhaka police to trace the minor. Acting on which, a team of police have launched a manhunt, a senior cop expressed.

“Reason as to why and where the ITI student went has not been ascertained,” his father said.
