It’s just February, Odisha capital records 39 degree C

Bhubaneswar: February has not even ended but the people of the State have already started feeling scorching heat of summer triggering apprehensions of sweltering days ahead.

On Friday, the mercury crossed 39 degree Celsius in the State Capital while the temperature was above 35 degree Celsius in as many as 13 places across the State.

Bhubaneswar and Malkangiri remained the hottest places in the State yesterday with 39.2 degrees Celsius followed by Cuttack (37.2), Bhawanipatna (37) and Talcher and Bolangir (36.5).

The other stations that recorded temperature above 35 degrees Celsius are- Sonepur (36.4), Baripada (36.2), Angul (36.1), Chandbali (35.7), Jharsuguda (35.7) and Sambalpur (35.5).

Meanwhile, the weathermen predicted rain from February 26 under the impact of western disturbance.
