Jaga, Kalia to reach Odisha on September 7

Bhubaneswar: Finally! Separated conjoined twins Jaga and Kalia will return to Odisha after being discharged from AIIMS New Delhi on September 6.

Health Minister Naba Das informed this here today. After reaching, the two brothers will be admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack for further treatment.

The Minister said the twins will be brought back to Odisha by Rajdhani Express on September 6. A team from the premier hospital and staff of  Odisha Bhawan will accompany the twin and their parents. They will arrive at Cuttack Railway Station on September 7.

The twins will be admitted in the Neurosurgery ward of SCB. A six-member team with specialists from neurosurgery, neurology, and surgery and pediatrics department will ensure proper treatment of the two.

“a team of four doctors from AIIMS New Delhi and a staff of Odisha Bhavan will accompany the twins and their parents.  The superintendent of SCB has been asked to be stay prepared. A six-member special team at the hospital will monitor their health condition. The state Government will bear all the medical expenses,” Das said.

The craniopagus conjoined twins hailing from Milipada village in Kandhamal district were separated by a team of doctors at AIIMS New Delhi after a 21-hour marathon surgery in October, 2017.
