Jagannath temple admin finalises schedule for Heritage Corridor inauguration; check details
The state government will make the necessary arrangements to broadcast the inaugural ceremony throughout Odisha.
Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has finalised the detailed schedule for inauguration of the Heritage Corridor Project in Odisha’s Puri town on January 17 next year.
The schedule was finalised at a meeting of the SJTA at Puri today.
The rituals for the inauguration of the mega project will commence at around 4 pm on January 12. The project will be thrown open for the devotees soon after the completion of all rituals at around 2 pm on January 17, said SJTA Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das.
All the rituals will be performed in the presence of Gajapati King Dibyasingha Deb. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will grace the occasion on November 17, added the SJTA chief.
“Brahmin priests will recite Vedas at the four gates of the 12th century shrine during the inauguration of the heritage corridor project. Cultural events will also be held to mark the occasion,” said the SJTA chief.
The state government will make special arrangements to broadcast the inaugural ceremony throughout Odisha. Puri Shankaracharya and the pontiffs of mutts in the Holy Town will be invited to the inaugural ceremony, he added.
The district administration has set a target to paint all buildings along the Grand Road with a uniform coat ahead of the inaugural ceremony, revealed the SJTA chief.
