Jagatsinghpur registers four COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha; tally reaches 185

Bhubaneswar: A total number of COVID-19 positive cases rose to 185 in Odisha after Jagatsinghpur registered four maiden cases and one more person tested positive for the deadly virus in Kendrapara district.

All four persons in Jagatsinghpur district are Surat returnees. Out of four, three are members of one family at Naugaon village and another is from the same village. They were under quarantine after they returned from Surat to Odisha.

“Four positive cases from our district. Swabs collected yesterday.  All are Surat returnees and are kept in village TMC. 3 belong to one family,” said Jagatsinghpur Collector in a tweet.

According to I&PR Department, the four patients are 26 yr Male, 32 yr Male, 30 yr Male & 47 yr Male with travel history to Surat.

In Jagatsinghpur, the curfew-like situation is already in force since Monday till end of lockdown. The movement for non-essential purposes restricted in the district from the first day of third phase of lockdown.

Meanwhile, the person tested positive for COVID-19 in Kendrapara is a 60-year-old male with travel history to Kolkata. With fresh case from Kendrapara, the district reported 3 positive cases with 1 active case.

With this Odisha has now 122 active cases with 61 recovery cases so far.
