Jatra staffer injured in knife attack during play in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A jatra staffer was critically injured after being stabbed by a youth with a knife while a play was underway at Charampa in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, last night.

The victim, identified as Jitu Padhiari, has been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

According to reports, a dispute was prevailing between some youths of Bankasahi village and jatra staff. It took an ugly turn last night as the youth attacked Padhiari with knife while a play was underway.

The assailants fled the spot after the incident. Police have started investigation into the incident and efforts were on to apprehend the attackers.
