Jawad: Cyclonic Storm forms over BoB; to hit Odisha’s Puri coast by Dec 5

Bhubaneswar: Deep Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal intensified into a cyclonic storm today, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD) DG Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.

Currently, the cyclonic storm is laying centered over westcentral and adjoining south Bay of Bengal about 420 km off south-southeast Vishakhapatnam, 650 km off south-southeast of Paradip and 530 km off south-southeast of Gopalpur.

As per the track forecasted by the IMD, the direction of the cyclonic storm will change after December 4 evening and move northnortheastward along Odisha coast and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast. It will hit Puri by December 5 noon and continue to move northnortheastward along Odisha coast. It will gradually weaken after touching Puri and move towards West Bengal coast.
