Malkangiri, Nov 13:
Deadly Japanese Encephalitis (JE) claimed two more lives in Odisha’s Malkangiri district today taking the death toll in the district due to the vector-borne disease to 108 in the last 66 days.
The deceased children both girls have been identified as Lina Madkami (3) of Kataguda under Padia block and Lagna Madkami (2) of Urmaguda under Korukonda block.
Both died while undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital here.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will visit Malkangiri tomorrow to take stock of the situation arising out of the outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in the district.
The Union Minister is scheduled to visit Palkonda and Dariguda villages in the district.
He will be accompanied by BJP State Unit President Basant Panda, General Secretary Bhrugu Baxipatra and BJP Legislature Party Leader KV Singh Deo, according to party sources.
The minister would meet patients at the district headquarters hospital and hold discussions with Health officials
