JEE Main exam begins in Odisha

About 50,000 students from Odisha appeared the JEE Main examination which began in Odisha this morning.

JEE MainThe examination, which began at 9.30 AM at 76 centres in nine cities and towns of the state, would be concluded at 12.30 PM.

Of the 76 centres, 21 in Bhubaneswar, 5 are in Angul, 10 each in Baleswar, Brahmapur and Cuttack, 8 in Sambalpur, 6 in Rourkela, 4 in Jepore and 2 in Bhawanipatna.

According to Tusharkant Nath, chairman of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE), the JEE Main online examination would be held on April 10 and 11 while the result of the JEE Main Paper-1 would be announced on April 27. While the students qualifying the JEE Main examination would be eligible for admission in government and select private engineering colleges in the state, about 1.5 lakh students qualifying the JEE Main examination would appear the JEE Advance test on May 24 for which they have to register their name online on May 2 and download their admit card on May 9.

The results of the JEE Advance test would be announced on June 18 after which the process for counselling for admission in IIT, NIT, IIIT and other central institutes would begin, Nath informed.

Stating that the OJEE has entrusted the conduct of examination to the district administration, he said OJEE would conduct its test as scheduled after the conclusion of JEE Main examination.
