Jewellery showroom loot worth around Rs 20 Crore: Police issue photos of 3 suspected dacoits

Jajpur: Jajpur Police today issued the photographs of at least three of the seven accused robbers in connection with the loot incident that took place at a well-known jewellery showroom on Monday.

Even as the dacoits had taken away computer hard disks of all CCTVs installed in the showroom with the intention to escape the eyes of police except only one such non-volatile data storage device, a probe team could collect the photos from the available video footage.

After tracking the real-time occurrence of the jewellery showroom heist, police have issued the photos to accumulate further information and clues about the seven-member gang of robbers.

Allegedly, the seven accused were armed with pistols and other weapons. Anyone providing information about the gang will be given a cash reward by police, a notification mentioned.

Besides, the district police, led by Jajpur Superintendent of Police Vinit Agrawal, have formed teams and have been raiding different places in and outside the State.

Without divulging much about the ongoing probe, a police official said that the dacoits were talking among themselves in Hindi on the intervening day. It seems that they were members of an interstate gang. Police will soon nab the seven accused persons, the official added.

Worthy to mention, the robbers have looted around 17 kilograms of gold ornaments, including diamond jewelleries. The cost of stolen valuables would be around Rs 20 crore in the open market.

Ornaments worth crores were looted from the jewellery showroom in Vyasanagar locality of Jajpur.
