Jharaphula’s death: Clothes, mobile phone of accused seized

Bhubaneswar: After recovering the scooter used for carrying the body of Jharaphula Nayak from Bhubaneswar to Jajpur, Kuakhia police of Jajpur district has seized the clothes that accused Rakesh Swain had worn on the fateful day.

The police have also seized mobile phone of the accused for a detailed inquiry into the incident. The seized articles will be sent to forensic department, police sources said.

However, the cops have not recovered the mobile phone of the deceased girl till yet while Rakesh’s friend Shekhar, who drove the scooter from Bhubaneswar to Kuakhia, is still absconding.

Earlier on February 3,  the Kuakhia police had taken Rakesh Swain to Shiv Sai Guest House in Dharma Vihar here for reconstruction of scene in connection with the death of the girl.

It is pertinent to mention here that Rakesh and Jharaphula had checked in the guest house on January 26, a day before the body of Jharaphula was found dumped in Kuakhia area.
