Jilted lover shoots girl dead in Odisha!

In yet another allegedly case of one-sided love affair, an obsessive man today gunned down his lover in Odisha’s Koraput district.

According to reports, the accused idenfitied as Ajit Khora fired at the girl while she was on the rooftop. The family members rushed upstairs after hearing the gunshots only to find girl lying in a pool of blood and gasping for breath.

“The duo was having a conversation at the rooftop after which the accused fired at the girl. The accused was beaten up by the locals after which he has been admitted to the hospital. His condition is being monitored. Preliminary investigation revealed that it could be a case of love affair. We could comment further after a detailed investigation,” Nirmal Kumar Mohapatra, Jeypore Sadar Police IIC said.

The incident took place at Bareniput village under Sadar Police limits in the district.

“I heard a loud sound and thought that could be blast due to short-circuit. When I went upstairs, I found my sister in a pool of blood. Ajit was holding a gun and said that he killed her,” cousin of the deceased said.

The deceased identified as B Pinky is cousin of the accused who hails from Umuri.

“He is my nephew and often visited my house. I am not aware of any love affair between the two. There is no property dispute between us also,” B Narendra, father of the deceased said.

Police began probe into the incident after B Narendra filed a complaint with the police.

Notably, Pinky was about to tie knots shortly as her marriage was fixed by her family.
