Jio GigaFiber connection: Registrations start from Aug 15; check details  

Bhubaneswar: Those who are waiting for Jio GigaFiber broadband connection, here is some good news. Registrations for the Jio GigaFiber will begin in India from Independence Day (August 15).

Reliance Jio will introduce its new Jio GigaFiber in 1100 Indian cities in the initial stages. The Jio GigaFiber, previously known as Jio Fiber, has been in the testing phase for over two years now. Reliance Industries’ chairman Mukesh Ambani at its 41st annual general meeting had announced that the Jio GigaFiber connection will be available for registrations from August 15 in India.

Jio GigaFiber will come with GigaFiber router along with the Jio GigaTV set-top box, which will allow users to make video calls to other GigaTV devices or mobile connections on any network in the country.

Earlier, Mukesh Ambani had informed that the service will provide ultra high definition entertainment on TV, voice activated assistance, virtual reality gaming and digital shopping as well as smart home solutions.

How to register for Jio GigaFiber

  • Go to MyJio App or the company’s official website
  • Click on the Jio GigaFiber registrations options
  • Enter your details like contact number, address, email account etc.
  • Apply for a new Jio GigaFiber connection by entering all the required details

An installation team will reach your home with a Jio GigaRouter on a specified date which will be mentioned in the confirmation message or mail to install the Jio GigaFiber connection.

Though there has been no official announcement on the Jio GigaFiber prices, earlier reports have highlighted that in order to get the broadband connection, you might have to pay Rs 4,500 up front to the installation team as a security deposit for the Jio GigaRouter.

Meanwhile, Reliance Jio has confirmed that the Jio GigaFiber service will be free for new users for the first three months of getting a connection.
