Job fraud: Man duped of over Rs 10 lakh in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: A man was allegedly duped of Rs 10.30 lakh in Odisha capital over false assurance of a job at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

As per a complaint lodged by victim Sagar Kumar Padhi, a resident of Jagamohan Nagar here, with Khandagiri police, one Suresh Barik of Nayagarh district took the amount from the complainant after promising him of providing job at IOCL in Paradip.

However, the accused failed to do so. As Padhi telephoned Barik and asked him to return the money, the latter abused him and threatened him with dire consequences.

On the basis of the complaint, police have registered a case under Sections 420, 294 and 507 of the IPC and started investigation.
