Bhubaneswar: On the request of Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Odisha Crime Branch, the Bureau of Immigration (BOI) has issued a Look out Circular (LOC) against Bhiku Bisoi and Manikandan, both Directors of M/s Kinney Infotech Pvt Ltd, on charges of job racket.
Earlier in April, a case in this connection was registered with EOW under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120 B of IPC r.w Section 66(C) and 66 (D) of IT Act, 2000. The EOW had registered the case after taking over the investigation from Bhanjanagar police.
As per the complaint, the company duped a large number of job seekers of over Rs 1 crore on the pretext of providing jobs. During investigation, it was revealed that Bhiku Bisoi, a native of Ganjam district, and Manikandan of Chennai being the Directors of M/s Kinney Infotech Pvt. Ltd opened its office at Bhanjanagar in 2021.
The two employed some agents to persuade youth to invest in the company with false assurance of providing the job. Being lured, a large number of youth invested over Rs 1 crore in the company to get job. But the accused persons misappropriated the invested money, closed the office and fled away. It is suspected that the accused persons have absconded to Malaysia.
So far, over a 100 duped investors have been identified. Meanwhile, the Bhanjanagar SDJM has issued NBW against both the accused. Meanwhile, four other accused, who were engaged in unauthorised collection of public deposits, have been arrested and produced before court.
