Joe Biden To Pick Xavier Becerra As Secretary Of Health And Human Services.

As per the reports circulating, President-elect Joe Biden is planning to nominate California Attorney General Xavier Becerra as secretary of health and human services.

According to the BBC reports, Joe Biden has made his selections for two critical public health positions. He is already prepared to take office next month as the coronavirus pandemic rages to new levels across the United States. He is planning to nominate California Attorney General Xavier Becerra as secretary of health and human services.

Even the former vice president is also expected to nominate Rochelle Walensky, chief of infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital, to run the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a person familiar with the decision said.

If Becerra is elected, then he will be leading the health agency. As the daily toll exceeding 2000 in recent days and the number of infections,  so it is significant to handle the resurgence of the Covid-19 virus. This will also help to prepare a mammoth effort to vaccinate Americans against the virus.

As of now, the sources informed that the announcement of Becerra’s choice would be out soon.

Becerra “has a strong record on healthcare but I think it goes beyond that. The president-elect selected someone with the highest levels of integrity and intellect.”

Biden has asked Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a member of President Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force, to stay on as a chief medical adviser.
