Jolt to Congress ahead of Jharsuguda Bypoll in Odisha

Jharsuguda: Congress suffered a major jolt in Jharsuguda as its district president Ashok Mishra resigned ahead of the ensuing bypoll.

Without citing any reason, Mishra tendered his resignation from the post of President in District Congress Committee, Jharsuguda, to the PCC President Sarat Pattanayak today.

However, he continues to be in the party as the primary member, he clarified to media.

Sources said that Ashok Mishra was the key aspirant for getting ticket from the party to contest Jharsuguda bypoll scheduled on May 10. But, the party fielded Tarun Pandey, son of three-time former Jharsuguda MLA late Biren Pandey, as the candidate for the upcoming bypoll.
