Hockey Odisha stormed into the semifinals of the 4th Junior Men’s National Championship-2014 (Division A) after they thrashed Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd by 4-0 goals in the Pool B quarterfinal here this afternoon.
Odisha took control of the game right from the start when Sanjit Toppo converted a penalty corner in the first minute of the game. In the 31st minute, Anand Lakra scored the second goal through a penalty corner.
In the second half, Joseph Toppo scored the third goal after converting a penalty corner in the 61st minute while Anuranjan Tirkey completed the rout after scoring the fourth goal in the 68th minute.
In the other quarterfinal match, Sports Authority of India (SAI) beat Bhopal by 5-0 goals.
In the semifinals on Saturday, Hockey Odisha would meet SAI while Hockey Punjab would meet Hockey Haryana.
