JSPL, Barbil Unit wins Global Environment Platinum Award 2015

Jindal Steel & Power Limited, Barbil unit has been conferred with the prestigious “Global Environment Platinum Award – 2015” for its outstanding contribution in pollution reduction and environment management.

EVP and Unit Head TS Shanbhogue, EVP (Environment) Dr JK Soni and GM (Environment Management) Dr RC Rout received the award from Energy and Environment Foundation during the ‘6th World Renewable Energy Technology Congress: International Renewable Energy Conference and Expo’ held at New Delhi on August 23.

The Conference was organized by Union New and Renewable Energy, United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

“This Award is recognition of JSPL’s commitment and action for pollution free and environment friendly operation. This will further reinforce our green initiatives,” said TS Shanbhogue, EVP & Unit Head (JSPL, Barbil).

Executive Director and Head (Mining & Minerals) of JSPL Manish Kharbanda congratulated employees for this award and thanked local people for their cooperation.

Dr Gustav Grob (President, International Sustainable Energy Organization, Switzerland), Anil Razdan (Chairman, Energy & Environment Foundation, Dr Satis B Agnihotri (former Union secretary, New & Renewable Energy ministry, Pradeep Chatruvedi (Vice President EE Foundation),  Dr Dolf Gielen, (Director, Innovation and Technology Centre, IRENA, Germany), Kerry Adler, (President and CEO, Skypower Canada), Dr Balvir S Tomar, (Founder Chancellor and Chairman, NIMS University), Markus Steigenberger,(Deputy Executive Director/head of European Energy Cooperation, Germany) and Union Cabinet secretary, Coordination, Gouri Kumar were present.
