JSPL executive director DK Saraogi bags ‘Best Corporate Leader– 2014’

DK Saraogi, executive director, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and head of Angul unit was awarded as ‘Best Corporate Leader – 2014’ today for his contribution to society and industry in Odisha.

Saraogi received the award from Union Tribal Affairs minister Jual Oram at Best Corporate Award programme in city here organised by the Odia Televiewers.

Among others, eminent artist Padma Bibhushan Dr Raghunath Mohapatra, Justice (Retd) M   Papanna and former CMD of NALCO SK Tamotia were present on the occasion.

Saraogi, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, is leading JSPL’s 6 MTPA steel project at Angul. Under his leadership, JSPL has achieved 1.5 MTPA capacity with world’s first coal gasification plant (CGP) for steel making, biggest electric arc furnace in India as well as widest plate mill of the country.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of JSPL.

Saraogi completed his Mechanical Engineering from Govt Engineering College, Jabalpur and joined the Jindal Group in November, 1988.

Since then he has consistently headed various business units of the company including the company’s Shadeed Plant at Oman.

“I express my thanks to the people of Odisha, my colleagues and my family members for their support. I will continue to contribute towards development of Odisha through industries and social development initiatives,” said Saraogi after receiving the award.
