Judicial Magistrate dies in road mishap in Odisha

Baripada: The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) of Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, Smaranika Pradhan, died in a road accident in Chainebeda area of the district today.

Sources said the official accompanied by her husband was on her way to her native place in Puri in a car when the mishap occurred.

The person behind the wheel lost control and the vehicle hit a roadside electric pole in Chainebeda area on NH-49. Critically injured Smaranika was rushed to Jashipur Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared her dead.

Smaranika had cleared the Odisha Judicial Service (OJS) Examination, conducted by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), in 2014.
