Jumbo tramples woman to death in Odisha’s Deogarh

Deogarh: An elephant allegedly trampled a woman to death near Badakuda village under Barkot Forest Range in Odisha’s Deogarh district, today.

The deceased has been identified as Rambha Nayak (40). She had gone to a nearby field this morning for attending nature’s call, during which an elephant attacked her.

She sustained critical injuries in the incident and was rescued by villagers, who rushed her to the Barkot Community Health Centre. However, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Officials of Barkot Forest Range have reached the village and started investigation.
