Kantamal: Boudh district Collector J. Sonal today placed a junior clerk under suspension for participating in a political rally ahead of the General Elections 2024, despite repeated warnings.
According to an official source, the junior clerk identified as Satyanarayan Danta is presently working in Radhamadhaba high school in Lambasari village under Kantamal block. It was earlier alleged that he participated in a party programme, following which an inquiry was conducted against him.
Worth mentioning, at least three school teachers from Boudh district were previously suspended and transferred for violating the poll Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and taking part in political events.
As per the ECI order dated March 15, 2024, and Odisha Government Servants’ Conduct Rules, 1959, no government employee shall be a member of or be otherwise associated with any political or communal party or any organisation which takes part in politics or communal activities, nor shall he/she take part or subscribe in aid of assist in any other manner, any political or communal movement or activity.
