Justice Arijit Pasayat honoured with “Utkal Shree Samman”

Former Supreme Court Justice Arijit Pasayat has been awarded “Utkal Shree Samman” along with a silver Ganesh statue, copper plaque and a memento, by the Utkal Sahitya Kala Parishad silver jubilee event was conducted in Sarala Bhawan in Odisha’s millennium city.

While, North Odisha university vice chancellor (VC)  Prof Dr Prafulla Kumar Mishra was given  “Sahitya Samman” and writer Bijay Nayak  “Katha Shree Samman”.  Nimai Charan Panda “ Bigyan Shree Samman”, playwright Narendra Behera, “Natya Shree Samman”.

“Art, culture and its language is an identity of a nation.Writers should try to bring social change through their writings”, said chief guest Jharkhand Governor Draupdi Murmu.

She added that religious books such as Mahabharat, Ramayana and Vedas have shown the path to the society for ages.

Utkal Sahitya Kala Parishad head Prabhakar Swain  chaired the event, while Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University VC  Prof Amit Kunar Banerjee was among the honoured guests.
