Justice Raghunath Biswal takes charge as chief of panel for Backward Classes

Bhubaneswar: Justice Raghunath Biswal today took charge as the Chairman of Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes (OSCBC).

Besides, three others-Dr Navneeta Rath, Mitali Chinara and Prasanna Kumar- took charge as members of the panel.

After assuming office, Justice Biswal said a database of Other Backward Classes (OBC) in the state  will be prepared soon. Left out eligible castes will be included in the list while those to be found developed socially and economically developed will be excluded.

“We will implement the reservation on the recommendations of Mandal  Commission.  The OSCBC will submit its report to the state Government after conducting a socio-economic caste survey,” he said.
