Juvenile held in Odisha for molesting, circulating video of the act

Police have arrested a minor boy studying in class IX under Kuliana police station limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district for allegedly molesting a minor girl studying in class VII and uploading the video of the incident on social networking site.

Police arrested the minor boy after a complaint in this regard was lodged by the victim’s parents at the Kuliana police station today.

According to the victim’s family members, two class IX students had molested a class VII girl while she had gone to take a bath in the river near her village and had shot a video of the act. They had threatened the victim with dire consequences, they added.

They claimed to have come to know about the incident after the video went viral on social networking sites following which they lodged a complaint with the police.

“She is deprived of her mother. I have brought her up with much difficulty. Those who are involved in this should be arrested and punished,” said the victim’s father.

“While I was returning after taking bath in the river, two boys approached me to take my photograph. When I refused, they threatened me with dire consequences. They molested me and shot the video on their mobile phone,” said the victim.

Further investigation by the police is on.
