Kalinga Hospital raided again in Bhubaneswar  

Bhubaneswar: The state Health and Family Welfare Department once again conducted a raid on city-based Kalinga Hospital here today under the PC and PNDT Act.

A team of officials of the Drug Control Administration of the department inspected various documents and quality of medicines being given to patients at the hospital.

Earlier on July 26, the Drug Control Administration had conducted similar raid on the private hospital and seized six types of medicines and sent the same to laboratory for testing.

Worth mentioning, raids are being conducted at the private hospital following allegations that it had been procuring sub-standard quality medicines.

The BR Life acquired hospital had recently landed in trouble for not releasing the body of a patient over non-payment of dues.When Keonjhar MLA Mohan Majhi intervened into the matter, he was allegedly misbehaved by the hospital staff. Following this, the hospital was dropped from the list of Odisha State Treatment Fund (OSTF) effective July 19.
