Kartik rituals at Puri Srimandir from Oct 9

Puri: The rituals of deities at the centuries old Jagannath Temple during the holy month of Kartik will begin from October 9 in Puri.

The decision was taken at Srimandir Chhatisha Nijog and Niti sub-committee meeting held here on Friday.

As per the decision, the door of Srimandir will be opened at 4.00 am for devotees. The Mangal Arti of Lords will be conducted at 5.00 am.

The rituals at Srimandir during Kartik month will be held from October 9 till November 11, official source said.

The district administration has made arrangements for accommodation of around 3,000 habisyalis at three locations in pilgrim town Puri from October 13 to November 12.

The devotees, who perform the month-long “Habisa” in the holy month of Kartik, will stay at Railway Tourist Complex, Municipality Kalyan Mandap and Narendra Kona Habisyali Centre.

The habisyalis can apply online for accommodation and offline at Tourism office, Puri, by October 11, informed the district administration.
