KB Singh takes charge as Vigilance Director

Senior IPS officer of 1985 batch Kanwar Brajesh Singh took charge as the new Vigilance Director of the state here on Friday.

A post graduate from Gorakhpur University, Singh began his career as Brahmapur SDPO in 1987 and served as SP of Brahmapur, Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Koraput.

He also had a stint in the Special Branch before he served as DIG of PMT, Intelligence and Eastern Range at Baleswar.

Recipient of President’s Police Medal for both meritorious service and distinguished service, Singh went on Central deputation in 2006 and joined as IGP of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). He returned to the state in December 2012.

Prior to joining his new assignment, he was the director of the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) as ADG (Training).
