Well-known litterateur of Odisha Rabindra Praharaj has been selected for the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for translation this year.
Praharaj will receive the award for his book “Thila Gharara Gelhapua”, a translation of “Alaler Gharer Dulal”, a Bengali novel written by the eminent Bengali litterateur Peary Chand Mitra (1814-1883), who wrote under the pseudonym Tekchand Thakur, and published in 1857.
Praharaj has translated numerous books from other languages into Odia. The best known among his works of translation is ‘Thomas Hardynka Galpa Sambhara’, which is available on amazon.in
