Keonjhar has highest per capita income in Odisha: Minister  

Bhubaneswar: Keonjhar district has the highest per capita income in the State as per the estimates made while keeping 2004-05 financial year as base year.

Planning and Convergence Minister Padmanabha Behera informed this in the state Assembly here today.

He further said the per capita income of the State was not estimated in 2011-12 financial year. But as per the assessment made with the 2004-05 fiscal as base year, Keonjhar district has the highest per capita income. The district has been performing better in agriculture, industries, services and other allied sectors. Keonjhar is followed by Sundergarh and Angul, the Minister added.

Worth mentioning, Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari in his budget speech said the State’s 2019-20 per capita income was estimated at Rs 1,16,614, 7% higher than 2018-19.
