KIIT B-school organises National finance conclave in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar:  The 8th National Finance Conclave of the KIIT School of Management (KSOM) was held on Saturday in Odisha capital with a theme of “Policy Interventions: Challenges & Prospects of Indian Business & Finance.”

The conclave was inaugurated by Peerless Securities Limited MD & CEO Jitendra Panda in the presence of KIIT & KISS founder Achyuta Samanta and KIIT Vice-Chancellor Prof Hrushikesha Mohanty.

Panda elaborated the philosophy behind the formulation and implementation of financial policies across various markets. He emphasised on the workings of major policy initiatives like demonetisation, GST, Make in India, Digital India and Ease of Doing Business.

Prof Mohanty talked on different challenges faced by the players in the financial markets against the backdrop of the recent policy changes and stressed on an urgent imperative of up-gradation of the skill sets of the millennial to meet these challenges.

In his welcome address Dr Samanta highlighted the impact of policy changes on business prospects. He also talked about the viable financial model of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), which is highly appreciated by policy makers of the country.

The conclave had six workshops for the students with topics relating to contemporary banking, mutual fund, micro-insurance, corporate governance practices and digital innovations. This year’s conclave witnessed huge participation from management students, academia and industry practitioners.
