King cobra rescued from temple in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: A 9-feet long king cobra was rescued from a temple at Chaitanpur Sasan under Patrapur block of Odisha’s Ganjam district last evening.

A priest of the temple spotted the snake under the hundi and informed the villagers. On being contacted by the locals, a member of the Snake Helpline and Forest officials reached the place and rescued the reptile.

The animal was later released into the nearby reserve forest.
