Odisha: Know the darshan duration of Lord Jagannath’s Suna Besha tonight

Puri: The holy town of Puri is submerged in a sea of devotees, as the Holy Trinity will emerge in their golden avatar of the Suna Besha today.

Pilgrims can have darshan of the deities adorned in about 200 kg of gold ornaments from 4 pm till 11 pm tonight.

The Grand Road (Bada Danda) has been barricaded with one-way traffic passage for the benefit of those thronging Puri today.

Lord Jagannath and Lord Balabhadra are donned with hands and feet made of gold. While Lord Jagannath holds a gold Chakra in his right hand and a silver conch in the left hand, Lord Balabhadra holds a golden plough in his left hand and a gold mace in the right hand.

Worth mentioning, Suna Besha of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra is conducted five times in a year, namely during Magha Purnima, Pausha Purnima, Kartika Purnima, Vijaya Dashami and Asadha Ekadashi, which is today.
