Know which age group in Odisha will get Covid jab where from May 1

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today directed District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, CDMOs and PHOs not to use the Covid vaccines supplied by the Government of India for vaccination of 18-44 years group of people. Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department PK Mohapatra wrote a letter to the Collectors, Municipal Commissioners and Health officials in this regard.

The letter further stated as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Covid-19 vaccines supplied by the Government of India will given to HCWs, FLWs and person aged 45 years and above only.

It added the state government or private hospitals and hospitals of industrial establishments out of other than Government of India channel will provide the Covid vaccine to the 18 to 44 years age group of population.

Worth mentioning, the Government of India has announced the liberalized and accelerated phase-3 strategy of Covid-19 vaccination from May 1, 2021. During the third phase vaccination programme people in the age group of 18 to 44 years will be eligible to get the vaccine.
