A Kolkata-bound Air India flight from Bengaluru made an emergency landing at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha capital today due to a technical snag.
According to reports, the AI flight 772 took-off from the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at 6.05 am this morning with 151 passengers on board excluding the pilots and crew members. However, the airbus encountered technical snag mid-air after nearly one-hour from departure.
The pilot contacted the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) of the BPIA here for clearance to make an emergency landing. Upon approval, the flight landed here safely and none was hurt.
The flight resumed its journey for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at around 3.15 pm, airport sources said.
