Korean Ambassador calls on Odisha CM to discuss investment

South Korean Ambassador Cho Hyun today called on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to discuss investments and explore trade opportunities in the state.

The much hyped and much delayed POSCO issue, however, was not taken up during the meeting.

“POSCO project unfortunately has not developed well. But, after 10 years of time, may be, we have to think more creatively. South Korea has many other things to offer, not just POSCO,” said Hyun speaking to reporters after the meeting.

Pressed further, the Ambassador said that the South Korean Government will honour POSCO’s decision which the company will take based on its commercial consideration.

Hyun further added that his country is in favour of more investment in India and that he has met a number of businessmen in his country last month and has encouraged them to invest in India.
