Bhawanipatna: Less than a week after an under-construction flyover caved in at Bomikhal in Bhubaneswar killing a person and leaving 11 others injured, a labourer died yesterday and another sustained critical injuries as the spillway of under-construction Reta Irrigation project in Narla block of Odisha's Kalahandi district collapsed.

The deceased was identified as Ram Prasad Dwivedi, hailing from Madhya Pradesh.

Another labourer Mundal Singh from Jharkhand was admitted to the district headquarters hospital in a critical condition.

On the other hand, two persons-- project's site incharge Dushasan Nayak and site engineer Upendra Mohapatra-- have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Kalahandi Collector today ordered a probe into the incident. A 3-member technical committee headed by Project Director, DRDA, will investigate into the matter.

It has been alleged that the spillway collapsed due to weak centring.
