LAccMI bus service to roll out in six southern Odisha districts on October 12

Bhubaneswar: The ambitious LAccMI bus service will be launched by Odisha government in six southern districts of the State on October 12. Officials of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) had a discussion today with around 650 employees including bus drivers, conductors and managers in this regard.

The CMO officials advised the LAccMI bus employees to provide dedicated service to people.

According to the CMO sources, in the first phase, the districts where the government bus service will be rolled out are Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal. The CM Naveen Patnaik will launch the LAccMI scheme for Malkangiri. It has been decided for the time being to run the buses under this scheme from panchayats to blocks and from blocks to district headquarters.

Addressing the bus staffs, the CMO officials said, “Road connectivity is the basis of economic and social development. Hence, providing high-standard services to people must be our first priority. This scheme will benefit farmers, businessmen, women of Mission Shakti and the students as well.”

“The bus service will also help patients from across the State to easily reach hospitals. Maa Laxmi is the symbol of progress. Hence, the bus service will help bring development in each and every village. It will ensure economic development and transformation in rural areas,” the officials stated.

Notably, the bus staffs were insisted on behaving with the passengers as their family members. They were also advised by the CMO officials to focus on the passengers’ safety, dignity and convenience.
