‘Lakshmi Purana’ to air on Manjari TV this December

Bhubaneswar: Celebrating the pious month of ‘Margashir’ (November-December) of the Odia calendar, Manjari TV is coming up with a brand-new show ‘Lakshmi Purana’. The serial will air every Thursday to Tuesday at 5:30 pm, starting from December 3.

As the Goddess of wealth and prosperity is being welcomed with prayers, ‘mana basa’ and ‘jhotis’ in every Odia household this auspicious month, the first free-to-air entertainment channel of the state has introduced the devotional programme to cherish Odia mythology in a new way.

Drawing inspiration from mythical records, the serial will narrate how Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, facing the ire of Goddess Lakshmi, had spent 12 years on the face of the earth, famished and homeless.

Saantu, Anshuman, Gargi Mohanty, Sheetal, Narendra, Shubranshu, Hrushi, Mamta, Monalisa and many other actors will be seen in several characters in the Silu Mohanty directorial.

Apart from the serial, every Thursday the channel will telecast a 5 am musical programme on ‘mana basa’ by popular vocalist Deepti Rekha Padhi.

‘Lakshmi Purana’, a Manjari TV production has been made in collaboration with Contiloe Pictures. As the inculcation of graphics and modern animations have had the makers of the show enthusiastic about telling the tale, get ready to watch the show with your families from December 3.
