Land dispute: Villagers thrash man to death in Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: A group of villagers allegedly thrashed a man to death over a land dispute at Sahaspur village under Jajpur Sadar police limits, today. The deceased has been identified Prashant Kumar Jena.

According to reports, a land dispute was prevailing between Jena and some of the villagers. The issue was resolved at police station around two months ago.

However, the villagers attacked Jena this morning when he had gone to attend nature’s call. Though his family members rescued him and took him to the District Headquarters Hospital, he was declared dead by doctor.

Police have recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation.
