Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here issued landslide warning for five districts of Odisha as the state is likely to experience heavy rainfall due to a low pressure area.

Landslide may occur in hilly areas of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts, the Meteorological Centre said.

This apart, flash flood situation may emerge in some districts due to heavy to very heavy rainfall.

"A cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Odisha. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours," the agency predicted.
