Large quantity of country liquor seized in Odisha’s Bhadrak, 1 held

Bhadrak: The Excise officials today seized 200 litres of country liquor while being transported in an autorickshaw near Dahanigadia Chhak under Bhadrak town police limits and arrested one person.

Acting on reliable information, the Excise officials were patrolling near Dahanigadia Chhak and frisking vehicles. During a search of the autorickshaw the officials seized 200 litres of country liquor estimated to be around Rs 30,000.

The driver of the autorickshaw, Sudam Malika of Kanapadabindha village under Bhahdrak district was arrested for allegedly transporting the country liquor illegally.

An official said taking advantage of the lockdown imposed by the State government to curb the spread of COVID-19, country liquor smugglers in the district have been active these days.
