Puri: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) today started the laser scanning of Natamandap, Jagamohan and Bhogamandap of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha's Puri.
However, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has not permitted the ASI to carry out 3D laser scanning of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple for the time being.
The ASI has planned for the laser scanning to detect cracks and damages in the temple and evaluate the condition of the repair work done in the past. Subsequently, the conversation plan would be prepared.
The laser scanning will be conducted in the presence of executive engineer, assistant engineer, temple supervisor and sevayat committee members.
The findings of the scanning will be submitted before the temple managing committee.
