Bhubaneswar: The authorities of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar have constituted an expert committee for the management and monitoring of the treatment of a Plus-2 girl, who was set on fire by unidentified miscreants in Balanga area of Odisha’s Puri district today.
The victim is now undergoing treatment at the burn unit of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
Altogether 14 experts from various departments including General Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Burn and Plastic Surgery, Cardiology, Anesthesia, Trauma and Emergency, FMT, O&G, and Nephrology have been included in the committee.
Dr. Sanjay Giri, Additional Professor at the Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery has been made as the member secretary of the committee, said an office order issued by the Medical Superintendent of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.
“The Committee can co-opt any other faculty member of any other chemical department as and when required and shall do the best possible management for the patient. The treatment shall be provided free of cost as decided by the government,” added the order.
In a related development, the authorities of the premier health institute urged people not to congregate at the entry point and lobby of the hospital.
“There are many patients inside the hospital. Public gathering will hamper patient care and increase the chance of infection,” said the Medical Superintendent in a notice today.
